“We’re feeling great,” the couple told PEOPLE as they confirmed their engagement at the EBONY Power 100 Gala on Sunday, Nov. 17
Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are engaged.
The couple, who have been dating since May 2023, confirmed their news to PEOPLE while attending the EBONY Power 100 Gala at NYA Studios West in Los Angeles, on Sunday, Nov. 17.
Majors, 35, and Good, 43, revealed their news while speaking about the upcoming festive season.
“We’re feeling great,” Good tells PEOPLE while showing off her sparkling engagement ring to the camera.
“It’s a season of joy,” Majors, 35, adds with a smile.
“It’s a season of all the good things,” Good continues, with Majors adding, “Amen.”
The pair also told E! News that they chose to share their news at the gala because it’s where they met two years ago.
“EBONY Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom,” the Shazam: Fury of the Gods actress said.
Majors and Good were first linked in May last year after they were spotted watching a movie together in Los Angeles.
Back in July, Good, who finalized her divorce from pastor DeVon Franklin in June 2022, told PEOPLE that the couple had “instant chemistry” when they met.
The romantic news follows a tumultuous time for the couple. In June 2023, Good stood beside the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star after he was accused of misdemeanor assault and harassment charges.
The trial ended in December 2023 when Majors was found guilty of two counts of misdemeanor assault and harassment. In April, he was sentenced to complete one year of an “in person batterers” intervention program in Los Angeles.
Earlier this year, Good told PEOPLE that Majors “actually tried to encourage me not to be with him” during the trial.
“He wanted to protect me,” she said. “I was like, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with a Black Leo. And also, I grew up in this industry. The things that I’ve been through gave me the bandwidth to love other people, regardless. So when we got together it was like, this is going to be a lot, but you got the right one.”
