A New York woman who jumped into Niagara Falls with her 2 children was heartbroken over her baby’s father.
Chianti Means, 33, stepped over the guardrail with her 2 children at Luna Island on Monday night. New York State police say Means jumped to her death with her four month old daughter, Mecca, and 9-year-old son, Roman.
Means and her children lived in Niagara Falls, NY.
Police are still dragging the bottom of Niagara River for the three bodies.
Facebook posts written by Means indicated she wanted to get back with her daughter’s father.
On September 28, Means wrote: “I wish someone would love me because the man that’s suppose to does not.”
On October 1, Means asked her loved ones for support as she tried to get back with her daughter’s father.
“Everyone please leave me alone I’m in love with my daughter father,” she wrote.
“I want my family back. Respectfully [I don’t care] what I said about him before or what anyone else thinks.”
On October 11, Means shared a post that read: “I just wanna become a calm woman when it comes to any situation. My biggest goal is calmness right now. I’m so sick of irritation, anger, sadness and rage.”
On October 14, Means expressed regret that she and her daughter’s father were no longer together.
“Cause I was a dumb ass pregnant b*tch who swore up and down I ain’t want him,” she wrote in response to a Facebook user asking why they broke up.
“I need all the positive energy I can get,” Means added.
Means’ friends posted tributes to her on Facebook.
“You really never know what anybody is going through… RIP,” wrote one friend.
“I can’t even bare to write a post about her and share memories,” wrote another friend.
“I am literally sick to my stomach and I can’t even deal with the emotions I am feeling,” the friend added. “Just know her and her children are dearly loved by me and my children.”
A New York woman and two children, including an infant, died after they went over Niagara Falls this week, state police said.
The incident occurred about 9 p.m. Monday, near Goat Island, state police said in a statement.
“The investigation has determined that this incident was intentional in nature, though the circumstances remain under investigation,” the statement said.
The 33-year-old woman and the two children, a 9-year-old and a 5-month-old, were all from Niagara Falls, state police said.
State police did not specify the relationship between the woman and the children in the statement.
An investigation determined the woman and the children crossed over a safety guardrail and went over Niagara Falls on Luna Island, which is attached to Goat Island, according to state police.
State police and state park police attempted a rescue effort. The incident was deemed not to be a threat to the public, state police said.
