Mary J. Blige says she’s finally found the love of her life.
The R&B superstar opened up about her past relationships during Tuesday’s episode of “TODAY with Hoda & Jenna.”
Mary, 53, was there to promote her upcoming third annual Strength of a Woman Festival and Summit.
Mary moved on from her disastrous marriage to Martin “Kendu” Isaacs. She told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager that she finally found her true love: herself.
“I am in love. I believe I deserve a good relationship,” she said. “With myself. With a partner. When you believe it, it comes to you.”
Mary added: “I’m able to be my own company because I believe in love for myself, I’m not going to give up on love. I’m not going to let a bad relationship or a bad marriage stop me from having a good life and having romance and getting the hugs that I want and the desire and kisses.”
Mary J. Blige and Kendu Isaacs finalized their contentious divorce in June 2018. She also battled drug and alcohol addiction. She’s been sober since 2019.
Mary spent six years in a relationship with R&B singer Cedric “K-Ci” Hailey of the boy band Jodeci.
She also briefly dated Queens, NY rap legend Nas.
Mary released a new single titled “Still Believe in Love” last year. She told Hoda and Jenna that the song’s lyrics are “absolutely” representative of her current outlook on life.
