The actress gets her own doll to celebrate Women’s History Month and Barbie’s 65th anniversary.
Barbie fever hasn’t ended, as Viola Davis is getting her own Barbie doll.
According to The Grio, Mattel announced that the Oscar-winning actress is the latest Barbie addition.
The announcement is Mattel’s way of marking Barbie’s 65th anniversary and Women’s History Month.
They honored women entertainers, including Davis, Shania Twain, Kylie Minogue, and Hellen Mirren.
Each doll embodies the respective woman’s likeness.
Viola Davis Was Elated With Becoming The Latest Black Barbie
Viola Davis released a statement sharing her excitement.
“Honestly, I wanted this Barbie to make little 6-year-old Viola squeal. It is my biggest gift to her…my lifelong mission and legacy to make her feel pretty, seen, and worthy. No words…just joy.”
Viola Davis is now part of a growing list of Black women honored with Barbie dolls made in their likeness.

Viola Davis’ doll is modeled after her 2018 Golden Globes attire, with a sleek black evening gown, a curly afro, and necklaces.

Though Davis’ doll is not available for purchase, fans of the brand will be able to buy 65th-anniversary Barbies for $60.
