Tiffany Haddish is ready to get back to work, but unsure sure if she’ll ever be given another chance. The last few weeks have been trying for the Girls Trip star after a former friend sued Tiff for her children’s involvement in a skit from 2014. With the case settled outside of court this week, Haddish and her team are eager to put it behind her, but according to the comedian she has lost everything and has no upcoming gigs.
Tiffany Haddish was slated to be a a film titled Haunted Mansion that will be released next year. The Disney film follows actress Rosario Dawson who is playing a single mother named Gabbie. According to IMDB, “Gabbie hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest, and a historian to help exorcise her newly bought mansion; after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts.” The film co-stars Jared Leto, Winona Ryder, and Tiffany Haddish as “Harriet” with Guillermo del Toro attached as a writer and director.
The film is based on the popular Disney attraction Haunted Mansion, which like fellow attractions Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise, has already been turned into a popular film before in 2003 starring Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Tilly. This version aims to be be truer to the ride, with a creepier tone as opposed to Murphy’s more comedic take on the property. Tiffany Haddish is still listed as a cast member, and we’re unsure if Disney has any plans on pulling the movie since it is in post production. However, the film was originally slated to be released March 2023 and has no been pushed to August 11, 2023. No word on if Haddish case had anything to do with the push back.

If all goes well, Haddish will be reuniting with Kevin Hart in the Las Vegas based comedy Back on the Strip which also features Wesley Snipes. This film is set to follow a man who goes to Vegas to become a magician but ends up fronting Vegas notorious black male stripper crew, The Chocolate Chips. Next year she will star in Landscape With Invisible Hand opposite William Jackson Harper.
Since the lawsuit has been dismissed, Jane Dane released a statement. In the statement, Jane wished Tiffany Haddish the best with her career and insisted that the comedian and her mother have been friends for many years. In closing she also stated she does not believe Tiffany would do anything to harm her or her brother. No word on if money was exchanged in the settlement. However, in the agreement, neither Jane Doe or her brother will be allowed to bring the case up again in the future. Both parties have also agreed to keep the documents sealed containing the identity of the accusers.
