A DAD MADE SURE HIS FLIGHT ATTENDANT DAUGHTER WOULDN’T BE ALONE ON CHRISTMAS BY BOOKING SIX FLIGHTS.

Working over the holidays is a drag in any industry, but it’s particularly tough for flight attendants. They’ve got to deal with grouchy customers, endless delays and, of course, the loneliness of spending Christmas away from their families. Well, most of them have to deal with that. Not Pierce Vaughan.

Vaughan is a flight attendant for Delta Airlines, and she was scheduled to work both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. That bummed out her father, Hal Vaughan, so he decided to do something about it. He bought six airline tickets — New Orleans to Detroit, to Fort Myers, back to Detroit, then to Hartford, Atlanta and Denver — so that he could spend the holidays with his daughter.

The story went viral after the elder Vaughan told his seatmate Mike Levy about why he was flying, and Levy posted the story to Facebook. “I thought it was so amazing for a father to do that for his daughter on Christmas,” Levy told HuffPo.

Delta released a statement to NBC Chicago, saying “We appreciate all of our employees for working during the holidays to serve Delta customers, and love seeing this awesome Dad having the chance to spend Christmas with his daughter — even while crisscrossing the country at 30,000 feet.”

Vauaghan herself took to Facebook to give a few more details, including that her dad was able to score a first class seat for one of the flights. All told, a good reminder of how far some dads are willing to go to make sure their daughters are well taken care of over the holidays, and a reminder to all of us to show a little extra grace to people who have to work on Christmas. Not everyone gets to hang out with their cool dad while working over the holidays.
