Brittney Griner and Cherelle Griner Expecting Their First Child

Brittney Griner is expecting a child with life partner, Cherelle Griner. Brittney, 33, is already paying child support for twins from a previous marriage.

The 6′-9″ WNBA center and Cherelle, a lawyer, announced the baby news on each of their Instagram pages.

“Can’t believe we’re less than three months away from meeting our favorite human being,” read the caption of the post. They included the hashtags “#BabyGrinerComingSoon #July2024.”

 

Brittney and Cherelle met at Baylor University before Brittney was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2013 WNBA draft.

Brittney and Cherelle (pictured in 2014) broke up when Brittney met fellow WNBA player Glory Johnson.

On April 22, 2015, Brittney and Glory were both arrested on domestic violence charges. On May 8, 2015, they tied the knot.

On June 4, 2015, Brittney and Glory revealed that Glory was pregnant with twins. The babies were conceived via in-vitro fertilization.

Less than a month later, the marriage was over and Brittney filed for an annulment — which was denied.

Glory gave birth to premature twin girls on Oct. 12, 2015. Despite a court battle, Brittney was ordered to pay child support. Their divorce was finalized in June 2016.

Brittney then reunited with Cherelle, who took her back despite her history of cheating.
