In today’s world, everyone is trying to go viral with the most outlandish stories. Today a woman named Lagena Gold is going viral after claiming to be the secret daughter of R. Kelly and the late R&B singer Aaliyah. This is the first time anyone has ever heard of the woman.
During R. Kelly’s trial, his former tour manager, Demetrius Smith, claimed R. Kelly impregnated Aaliyah. According to Smith, R. Kelly told him, “Aaliyah thinks she’s pregnant.’” The singer then married Aaliyah to have her pregnancy terminated without anyone knowing. Now fast forward nearly thirty years later, a woman named Lagena Gold claims to be the daughter of R. Kelly and Aaliyah on Tiktok
According to her TikTok account, the girl’s name is Lagena Gold. However, she says her given name is Love Aaliyah-Destiny Haughton and tells followers to stream her mama music Aaliyah in her bio. “My name is Love [..] I am the biological daughter of Aaliyah Haughton and Robert Kelly. I just want to tell my truth, and also tell my mother’s truth because I feel like it’s time and it’s needed,” Lagena states in the video. The audio then becomes inaudible, followed by her repeating ‘I want the world to know.”
The video caught a lot of backlash from viewers who called the girl a liar. So Lagena followed up with another video to address the criticism and people suggesting she has a mental illness. “The thing is, my parents may fool a lot of people, but I don’t have that issue […] I know how it sounds because yall want to say, ‘oh, they’re celebrities, but they are people. In my life, I grew up with them being people.” The lady claims her teachers once told her that her father was a monster and she wasn’t allowed to say anything or she would get in trouble.
