9 Children Shot During Kansas City Super Bowl Parade

Nine children are among 22 people shot during the Kansas City Super Bowl victory parade in Missouri on Wednesday, Feb. 14.

At least two gunmen opened fire inside Union Station moments after the Kansas City Chiefs left the stage.

Police confirm one person died and up to 22 people were wounded, including nine children.

Children’s Mercy Kansas City said the hospital treated 12 patients. TMZ reported nine of the children had gunshot wounds.

Friends confirmed to the Kansas City Star that Lisa Lopez-Galvan died during surgery for a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

The Star reported that Lopez-Galvan, 44, was married with two children and worked as a DJ for a community radio station.

Kansas City fans ran and took cover when gunmen opened fire inside Union Station.

Cell phone video shows fans tackling a potential suspect fleeing police. The footage shows the man armed with what looks like an assault rifle.

A police officer arrived and took the man into custody.
