D.L. Hughley slammed comedienne Mo’Nique, calling her “a liar” after her interview with Shannon Sharpe went viral Wednesday.
Hughley claimed Mo’Nique told lies about him during her nearly 3-hour interview on Shannon’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast.
“Every time I see Mo’Nique these days, she’s doing some greasy ass video with her and her daddy complaining about something or working out,” he said in a video on Instagram.
Mo’Nique was upset about a “Would You Rather” question & answer segment during her appearance on Hughley’s radio show.
Mo’Nique was offended by questions about her husband Sidney Hicks and openly gay director Lee Daniels.
Afterwards, she called Hughley to vent about the radio segment.
However, Hughley claims Mo’Nique lied about his response to her complaint.
“She said I was very dismissive,” Hughley said in reference to the phone call.
“Mo’Nique’s a liar. When Mo’Nique did call me, I heard her complaints. I listened to her, and I pulled the segment. So, if I had been as dismissive as she alleges I was, that segment would have aired. It didn’t because I respected her wishes. She’s a liar.”
Hughley also discussed their contract dispute that led to Mo’Nique accusing Hughley of mishandling his daughter’s s*xual assault complaint.
“This broad even brought out my daughter’s personal trauma,” Hughley complained. “My daughter was molested, and Monique bought that sh*t out and told the world that I allowed my daughter to be raped in front of me. The lying m———-r.”
According to Hughley, Mo’Nique “knows she was lying,” and only stopped lying when his family members “checked her.”
Mo’Nique also dragged fellow standup comic Tiffany Haddish for bringing up her husband’s name in a 2018 interview with GQ magazine.
Tiffany shaded Mo’Nique for protesting Netflix during her equal pay dispute with the streaming network.
She later settled with Netflix for an undisclosed amount.
Tiffany also mentioned Sidney in her interview with GQ magazine.
“My business run different than her business. I don’t live her life. I don’t have that husband of hers,” Tiffany said.
In her interview with Shannon, Mo’Nique responded to Tiffany disparaging her husband.
“And when I saw that, I said, ‘Tiffany, if you had a husband like mine, you may not have two DUIs. If you had a husband like mine, you may not be caught up in what looks like you could have been grooming a child.’”
Mo’Nique added: “And I say all of that with no judgment. But when you speak about having a husband like mine, you open up the door. And I’m saying to you, if you had one like mine, you may not sit in these positions that you can’t explain the next day.”
“She don’t even have a husband – let alone like yours,” Shannon said.
