In 2018, superstar Mary J Blige wrapped up her divorce from Kendu Isaacs after 15 years.
However, she’s officially back in the dating pool.
According to Vibe, the 53-year-old singer confirmed she’s “not single” during a recent interview with Big Tigger for Audacy Check In.
“No, I’m not single. I’m happily doing what I’m doing.”
And that was it; the singer has kept her new beau a mystery.
Mary J Blige Still Believes In Love
The conversation came to love after discussing Mary J Blige’s new single, “Still Believe In Love.”
The singer wrote the song soon after her divorce.
“I needed something different, something positive other than what was going on in my life. I had to believe in myself […] I say ‘no matter what happens, I’m never gonna give up on me.’ And the timing, the climate for the song was just perfect for right now.”
The Grammy winner also wanted to control the narrative and let her fans know directly from her that she was dating again.
“You don’t have to reconcile. You’re just forgiven and I’m forgiving for myself and moving past all that stuff and just working and just watching God shower me because I’m doing the hard thing—which is tryna do the right thing, which is hard to do.”
Blige also confirmed that she’s working on her eagerly anticipated boot line, and it should hit stores in a year or two.
