Cardi B is more than happy to go the extra mile for her kids.
In an interview with the New York Times, the I Like It songstress revealed she spent ‘in the 20 thousands’ for a huge jungle gym complete with slides, a swing set, and even monkey bars.
Reflecting on the ‘perks of fame,’ Cardi described how meaningful it was to be able to give back to her loved ones.
‘When I bought my mom a house, that meant a lot to me. When I bought my house with my husband, that meant a lot to me. When I bought another house … damn, I bought a lot of houses,’ she said.
‘But it also do be the little things, right? I just bought this playground set for my kids and it’s huge. It looks insane. And I spent in the 20 thousands for it,’ she added.
‘Of course it’s not my biggest purchase ever, but this is what I work hard for, for my kids,’ she continued.
‘Overly spending on your kids doesn’t mean that you’re a great parent, but it makes you feel good. It makes you feel like that you’re living your childhood dream,’ she said.
Cardi shares her two children with her husband Offset. The Migos rapper is also father to children Jordan Cephus, 13, Kody Cephus, eight, and Kalea Marie Cephus, eight, from previous relationships.
She showed off the brand new playground set on her Twitter account last month. ‘When it comes to my f**king kids, I’m going to give them the world, honey,’ Cardi said as she showed off the impressive jungle gym.
The interview came weeks after reports the celeb couple ‘will hash their problems out as they always do,’ after he claimed she cheated on him, sparking a furious row.
Offset’s now-deleted post – which came hours after he reunited with Quavo at the BET Awards – read: ‘My wife f****d a n**** on me gang yall n***** know how I come.’
Cardi then hit back at Offset’s claim with a bizarre Twitter rant in which she accused her ‘motherf****r’ spouse of ‘spiraling.’
An insider has now told People: ‘They’re just having a little quarrel. They’re very intense so go back and forth quite a bit. They’ll hash it out like they always do.’
Cardi then took to Twitter Spaces to share a recording in which she hit back at the father of her two children via song and urged her fans ‘not to pay attention’ to Offset’s shock allegation.
Starting off with a song, the star trilled: ‘First of all, let me say, you can’t accuse me of all the things you know that you are guilty of. Sing it with me, y’all! And I see that it is easy for you to blame everything on me. Yes, honey!’
Offset has previously been accused of cheating numerous times. Cardi accused Offset of infidelity in 2018 just five months after the birth of their daughter.
After she declared they ‘grew out of love’ and were ‘not together anymore,’ Offset publicly pleaded with her to give him another chance.
The pair ended up reconciling, however in September 2020, it was reported that Cardi B had filed for divorce. The couple found their way back together again the next month.
She then said: ‘Listen. Don’t pay attention to that country man, y’all’ and added Offset is ‘spiraling and thinking s*** that’s not true.’
‘Come on, now. I’m Cardi B. I think sometimes motherf***rs forget I’m Cardi B. If I was giving this p**** to anybody, it would be out. I’m not just anybody.
The Bodak Yellow hitmaker said she is ‘not in a position to hook up with a regular degular shmegular guy because he would tell the world.’
She also said she ‘can’t sleep with anybody in the industry because they would tell, too.’
Cardi married the hitmaker in a secret ceremony in 2017. In 2020 it was claimed that he ‘pretty much’ cheated throughout the marriage, but the pair rekindled their romance with Cardi saying the hunk’s manhood was the primary reason, adding they were ‘simply dysfunctional.’
DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for the pair for comment.
