Rapper Scarface Gives Update On Kidney Transplant

Rappers Scarface and Mia X recently had a discussion about the challenges of recovery following life-saving surgeries. Both artists have faced recent health struggles and attribute their survival to medical advancements and the dedication of healthcare professionals. They want fans to understand that the road to recovery can be difficult.

Brad “Scarface” Jordan, a hip-hop pioneer from Houston, TX, revealed last year that he had kidney complications due to COVID-19, which required dialysis. Frustrated with the process, he decided to seek a kidney transplant and took to Twitter in the hopes of finding a donor among his vast fanbase. He received an outpouring of support and volunteers, with many fans offering to donate a kidney. Ultimately, Scarface’s son, tour manager Christopher Jordan, stepped forward as the donor, believing it was the right way to repay his father for giving him life.

The surgery was initially deemed successful, and Scarface appeared to be on the path to recovery. However, he recently disclosed that his body had initially rejected the new kidney in the first week of healing. Scarface described experiencing pain in the kidney area but realized it was more of a psychological response. His body had treated the transplanted kidney as a foreign entity, and it needed to be addressed by medical professionals. He humorously likened the situation to the kidney throwing up “gang signs” that his body was rejecting. Ultimately, Scarface had to return to the hospital for further treatment.

Despite the complications, things seem to be improving for the rapper, and he considers these issues part of the normal recovery process.
