The ongoing conflict within John Amos’ family remains contentious. Following the hospitalization of the “Good Times” actor last month due to suspected elder abuse, his children KC and Shannon have been embroiled in a bitter feud. Both have accused each other of being responsible for their father’s mistreatment. However, the situation has taken a disturbing turn, as KC is now in custody, allegedly for sending menacing messages and sharing images of firearms with his sister.
Some weeks ago, John Amos’ daughter turned to social media to initiate a GoFundMe campaign after learning that her father was in the ICU. Initially, she refrained from naming individuals but informed her father’s supporters about the dire living conditions he had endured while someone was allegedly mismanaging his finances.
In the subsequent days, John Amos and his son, KC, released a statement countering Shannon’s claims and requested the shutdown of the fundraiser. KC took to social media to taunt his sister, asserting that she had made a similar attempt when he was responsible for caring for their late mother.
While KC garnered some support, there were also suspicions surrounding his actions. These suspicions were compounded by reports suggesting that KC was grappling with a substance abuse problem and may have been using his father’s wealth to fuel his addiction.
Shannon refrained from addressing the situation until this week when she disclosed that her brother had been sending her alarming messages. In multiple messages, KC boasted about his association with a gang, sharing photos of firearms. In one particularly concerning message, he was seen discharging a firearm into an open area, accompanied by the message to Shannon, “Going to rest much easier tonight, big sis.”
Shannon has provided an update to her followers, informing them that KC has received a cease and desist order. Furthermore, his authority to make decisions on behalf of their father has been revoked. Shannon also disclosed that KC has a historical diagnosis of bipolar disorder.
