“After two years of marriage, the couple has parted ways and is currently living in a genuine state of separation.”
RadarOnline.com has acquired the recently filed divorce documents dated September 14 at the Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia, where the rapper is requesting joint physical and legal custody of their daughter, Monaco, both on a temporary and permanent basis.
Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, declared that their marriage had become “irretrievably broken” and that “there is no chance for reconciliation.” He requested the court to make the final decisions regarding “decision-making” and to establish a “specific parenting time schedule” that aligns with the “best interests” of their child.
The former couple welcomed their daughter in January 2022, shortly after their March 2021 wedding. Besides their child together, Jeezy is also a father to three children from previous relationships.
Jeezy emphasized that both he and Mai share a responsibility to provide for the “support, maintenance, and education” of their daughter, underscoring that “child support should be determined in accordance with Georgia law.”
The “Put On” hitmaker and television host had previously executed a prenuptial agreement before their wedding, which he is seeking to have “enforced” by the court, as it would comprehensively address “all financial matters associated with this divorce.”
Jeezy is seeking the allocation of their “individual, non-marital assets” and the division of both parties’ assets and debts in accordance with the terms outlined in their prenuptial agreement.
Mai and Jeezy initiated their relationship in the autumn of 2018, having initially met on her talk show, The Real, and subsequently announcing their engagement in April 2020.
