J. Alphone Nicholson’s ‘Lil Murda’ role has been controversial since P. Valley premiered on Starz. Lil Murda is a very complex character whose music career began taking off while confronting his sexuality as a black gay man. Lil Duval said he would never watch the show again, which prompted P. Valley’s Co-Executive Producer to call out the comedian, suggesting he find something else to watch. Despite the constant backlash, P. Valley’s viewership continues to skyrocket. The season two premiere drew in 4.5 million multiplatform viewers in the United States, breaking Starz’s record for the largest season-over-season growth.
