Nia Long is currently dating basketball coach Ime Udoka. Udoka is the head coach of the Boston Celtics and shares one child with the Soul Food actress, Kez Sunday Udoka. Long and Udoka have been engaged for seven years now, and Nia recently revealed to Essence’s “Yes Girl” podcast that it is on purpose. The duo met in Boston in 2010 while they were both there for work. They welcomed their first child a year later and were engaged by 2015.
Despite Ime jumping from city to city with different coaching gigs and Nia traveling all over the world for acting, she says the space is a big part of what helps everything work. “We both have beautiful careers,” Long said after Udoka nabbed the head coaching position in Boston. “The thing that I think makes it work for us is we give each other the space and time to do what we have to do individually, as well as together.”
