Tamera Mowry Staying Out Of Sister’s Divorce & Wants Us To Do The Same, Politely Shuts Down Reporter

Sisters Tia Mowry-Hardrict and Tamera Mowry-Housley have been a package deal since we were first introduced to them in the early ’90s. Despite doing some of their most famous work together, the last two decades have seen the sisters spiral off in their own directions as they navigate different career opportunities, family life, and more. This has not stopped people from questioning the two about one another. Tamara is currently on a press tour for her new book You Should Sit Down for This: A Memoir about Life, Wine, and Cookies, and is having to field questions about her sister Tia, who just announced that she is getting divorced.

Tamera has been in the public eye since she was a child. Her whole family has existed in the spotlight, and she’s got some crazy stories to share. So it makes sense that the former child star turned daytime talk show host would write her own memoirs. Amazon says the book is “like spending the afternoon sharing tea, fresh baked cookies, and conversation with Tamera Mowry-Housley, the fun-loving, wisdom-sharing girlfriend we all need in our lives.” In the book, Tamera describes her struggle as an Army brat growing up in a very disciplined household and how the transition from teen star to adult star with her own family was not always easy. She always opens up about her marriage, children, and of course, her relationship with her sister Tia.

While discussing the book on The Today Show, she pulled up with cookies and tea for Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager. Tamera says she wanted the book to feel like a conversation and not like she is talking “at you.” “I just want to feel like we’re all together, we’re all learned, we’re all experiencing this journey of life together.” She opened up about how she and Tia got started in statefairs dancing and singing and doing pageants. The duo was called T&T, and Tamera jokes about how people always made explosion puns.  Tia and Tamera both opened up about not dating during their teens and actually being late bloomers. Tia said she did not lose her virginity till 25, and Tamera says dating didn’t begin dating till 22. She met her husband, Adam, at 25.

Jenna turns the topic to Tia and asks Tamera if her heart is breaking for her twin, who just announced her divorce from her husband, Cory Hardrict. Tamera gathered her thoughts and even looked a bit misty-eyed as she said, “I support her. So whatever she wants, the Mowrys have her back. I love her dearly. She is strong. But I know right now she kind of just wants to process it all, take it all in and be a little private about that. Im just going to respect that.”

The interviewer caught backlash from fans who found it disrespectful to bring up her sister’s divorce while she’s trying to promote her new book. “She’s there promoting her book that she wrote partially because she wants to tell her story individually outside of being a twin…and y’all asking her about her twin. I know she pissed,” one fan stated. Many praised Tamera for shutting the reporter down politely. “THIS is how you politely let folks know to mind their own.” Tia and Cory have both been quiet since the news broke Tuesday. Tia made a very public post about their separation, while Cory only chimed in to let fans know that he did not cheat on his wife. A reason for their split has yet to be revealed.
