Let’s celebrate our girl Blac Chyna on marking one full year of sobriety!
In 2022, the reality star –whose legal name is Angela White– began a total mind and body transformation, and now she is celebrating her first year of sober living. On Thursday (September 15), she shared highlights of this milestone with her social media community on Instagram, including a screenshot of her Twelve Step tracker and a special moment with her mom, Tokyo Toni.
“September 14, 2023 marks my one-year of sobriety this year taught me a lot about myself,” she began her post. “I made up my mind on September 14, 2022 that I was done with the alcohol. This process is not easy but I did it, I plan on continuing practicing sobriety.”
She continued, “Angela White is unstoppable, smart, beautiful, brave, a great mother, and a great friend.”
“I’m hoping that when you see this, this will inspire you if you are struggling with any addiction, just know that you can do it and you are worth it. God loves you. It’s so many different apps, and groups that can help you with this journey, and you’re not alone.”
Her post also featured a heartwarming frame that shows her mom giving her a sweet kiss on the cheek while White smiles brightly.
The mother-daughter duo also had an emotional reunion during Monday’s broadcast of The Tamron Hall Show, in which Toni revealed it was challenging raising White as a single parent. Now that White is on a new journey, her mom is thrilled. “Hollywood, it does things to people. It changes you, and to see her be different, meaning in a bad way, I had to go in to pull her out. Seeing her sober, no makeup, fillers gone, this is who I birthed. Angela. This is who I birthed,” she said.
This interview allowed White to be her true self, unapologetic and makeup-free. “This is my day-to-day. I get dressed, and I do the makeup and the glam and everything, and I feel like that’s more of the “Blac Chyna” brand side. This is just me; this is Angela, she noted.
White shares two children: a 10-year-old son named King Cairo with rapper Tyga and a daughter, Dream, 7, with Rob Kardashian.
During her interview with Hall, White also opened up on the current family dynamics with Rob and his sister, Khloé Kardashian. “It really does [take a village.] And I feel like, I’ll never ever put Dream in a situation to where as though she’s not loved.”
She added, “Y’all have to also think too like Rob [the father of White’s daughter Dream] and Khloé are like really close, so of course they’re going to be closer than, like True [Khloé’s daughter] and Dreamy because Rob and Khloé are so close. It takes a village and I see them every time I take Dreamy to school and I’m like ‘Hey guys, Hi True!’”
