Jennifer Hudson remains somewhat elusive about publicly confirming her relationship with Common, but she does make it clear that their speculated romance is more than just a casual fling.
During an appearance on “CBS Mornings” on November 6, Jennifer Hudson discussed the new season of her eponymous talk show and the highlights of her life. Co-host Gayle King took the opportunity to inquire about the personal side of Hudson’s life.
“Word on the street is you’re very happy,” said King. Hudson responded, “I am very happy.” King continued, “Very nice relationship,” to which Hudson confirmed the romance with a simple, “Yes, ma’am.”
Co-host Nate Burleson also tried to get a confirmation that she’s off the market, asking, “So you boo’ed up?” Hudson responded, “Boo’ed up, hmm. I think it’s more sophisticated than boo’ed up…situationship…it’s definitely not an entanglement. That’s for sure.” Her comments in the interview led many to believe that she is indeed with Common.
Questions about their relationship began to circulate in July 2022 when the two were spotted together in Philadelphia. Since then, they have been photographed appearing close and have been seen in various cities, including Chicago and New York, where paparazzi captured them holding hands after leaving Joe’s Pub, a popular live music venue.
Hudson’s recent comments, along with her past statements about attending an Usher concert with her “boyfriend,” have fueled speculation that she and Common are indeed in a relationship.
Common, who previously dated Tiffany Haddish, has been associated with several high-profile figures in the past, including Angela Rye, Serena Williams, and Taraji P. Henson. Jennifer Hudson, on the other hand, was in a 10-year relationship with former reality TV personality and retired wrestler David Otunga, with whom she shares a 14-year-old son, David Daniel Otunga Jr.
