During her recent show at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on November 5, Ms. Lauryn Hill was joined by several iconic artists, making the night especially memorable. Among the surprise guests, Nas took the stage with Hill to perform their hits “If I Ruled The World” and “Nobody” from his King’s Disease II album. Another unexpected appearance was made by Lil Wayne.
Lil Wayne performed his verse from his 2002 “Ready or Not” freestyle while Hill was performing the original version with her fellow Fugees members, Wyclef Jean and Pras. He also delighted the audience with some of his fan-favorite tracks, including “A Milli.” Social media was abuzz with videos capturing Hill enjoying the performance in front of her live band. Additionally, B-Real of Cypress Hill was also invited to join the stage.
This electrifying concert followed a day after Lauryn Hill addressed fans’ concerns about her punctuality at shows. During her set in Los Angeles, she responded honestly to the criticism, emphasizing her dedication and spiritual connection to her performances.
“They say, ‘Oh, she’s late’ and ‘She’s late tonight,'” Hill stated during her speech. “Yo, y’all are lucky I make it to this bloodclot stage every night. I leave my soul on this stage. And I don’t do it because they let me do it. I do it because I stand here in the name of God. And I know it. God is who allows me to do it.”
The show was truly a night to remember, with unexpected collaborations and a powerful message from Ms. Lauryn Hill.
