According to Matty, when she and her friends arrived, thousands of girls were attempting to enter the VIP section, where their names were supposed to be on the guest list. Matty was joined in her video by at least five other women who echoed her claims against Chris Brown and the venue.
The timing of these allegations appeared coincidental, as Chris Brown engaged in a public dispute with Kiely Williams the day before. Williams had resurfaced the 2009 incident involving Chris Brown and Rihanna. In response, Chris Brown took to Instagram to confront Kiely Williams, listing white celebrities who had faced legal issues and continued their careers. In his Instagram stories, Chris Brown mentioned Mel Gibson, Nicholas Cage, Ozzy Osbourne, Tommy Lee, Slash, Charlie Sheen, and others.
Many fans questioned the motives of the group of women, suggesting they might be seeking attention, especially considering that Chris Brown had just started trending less than a day earlier.
