Lamar Odom may not be active on the court, but he’s actively shooting his shot at his ex-wife. The former NBA star has never shied away from declaring his love for Khloe Kardashian, albeit having made mistakes during their marriage. Now that Kardashian is going through a rough time with the news of her on-again-off-again boyfriend, Tristan Thompson, and his newest child, Odom is coming through in the spirit of reconciliation.
Recently, Tristan Thompson came into the news after the news broke that he had indeed fathered a woman by the name of Maralee Nichols’s son. Thompson took to his Instagram Stories to release a lengthy statement following the bombshell news. The Sacramento Kings player acknowledged and confirmed that he was the father and offered a sincere apology to Khloe Kardashian within the message. “I sincerely apologize to everyone I’ve hurt or disappointed throughout this ordeal both privately and publicly,” wrote Thompson. This follows long-standing infidelity issues within the relationship between Khloe and Tristan.
With the news, Lamar Odom hopped on to social media to offer his support to his ex-wife. The two got married in September of 2009 and lasted until 2016 when Khloe filed for a divorce. Taking to Facebook, Odom wrote, “I truly wish nothing but the best for her and I’m hoping we can reconnect and talk one day as friends.” Odom then shared that Kardashian is a “good person and deserves the world.”
Recently, TMZ caught up with the two-time NBA champion in Atlanta, where he stated he was not “fortunate enough” to speak to his ex-wife. However, Odom expressed his belief that Kardashian will “be alright” as she is a “strong girl.” Lamar Odom revealed that he would love to give his ex-wife a hug if given a chance. Odom then shared that his advice to Khloe Kardashian is to be strong for her daughter, True. The former NBA player then went on to call Tristan Thompson ‘corny.’
This is not the first time words have been exchanged between Lamar Odom and Tristan Thompson. Odom praised his ex within her comments in the past, calling her a “hottie” with multiple fire and heart-eyed emojis. Thompson, who also posted a set of hearts and drooling emojis, caught wind of Odom’s comment and mentioned him on Instagram. “God brought you back the first time,” he wrote. “Play if you want, different results.”
Lamar Odom is consistent with his love for Khloe Kardashian. While interviewing on The Megan Pormer Show in 2021, Odom declared his love for Kardashian and called her his “soulmate.” Odom also spoke on the way Tristan treats women. “I mean I’ve been down that road before, so I wasn’t one to judge and still not one to judge on how he tends to treat a woman. I wish it didn’t have to be that woman, but I’m a man, so I guess I can understand. Later in the interview Odom was asked if he’d get back with Khloe. He replied, “I mean will she get back with me? That’s the bigger question.”
